I said that I was going create a blog post and graphic to accompany a recent thread about how I stay unbothered in the face of neverending fandom drama. And I did!

I was so happy to finally share the info in the thread with people because I just feel bad watching people get stirred up every five minutes!

You don’t need to spend your online life constantly fighting with antis/trolls, being anxious and fearful because of someone’s endless fearmongering, or caught up in pointless infighting.

BLOCK, MUTE, AND ADJUST YOUR NOTIFICATIONS!

  • Block problematic accounts that constantly cause stress or harass you
  • Mute words and comments you don’t care about or are constantly triggering
  • Adjust your notifications to take immediate control over what you see day after day.

The more active a role you take in filtering what you’re exposed to every day, the less exposure you have to people or conversations that frequently stress you out.

IT’S JUST NEVER THAT DEEP.

If what you’re constantly reading is REALLY stressing you out, it’s time to take a break until you’re emotionally recovered. It can be a brief break (with some breathing exercises), or a long one. Whatever you need to get over constant exposure to online negativity.
